![]() Through some of the community and neighbourhood volunteer work I have done over the last number of years, I have had several opportunities to learn about ABCD - Asset Based Community Development. This learning has greatly impacted both how I view community and how I try to support community building and development in my own neighbourhood. Tamarack Institute is one organization who has helped me better understand the ABCD approach. Through their webinars, you can also learn more about the asset based approach. In fact, at the end of this month, 2 leaders in ABCD, John McKnight and Cormac Russell (I have heard both speak and they're terrific!) are leading a webinar entitled: Principles and Elements of Asset Based Community Development. If this interests you, you can register here. You may also want to check out this reading on the ABCD approach. There's another webinar in May by Jim Diers (who again I have heard speak and he was excellent) also offered by Tamarack, entitled "How Do We Build Inclusive Communities?" Both webinars sound like they will help us learn how to bring #365ofgoodWR to our communities!
