Earlier this week, I wrote about Kitchener's Cycling and Trails Master Plan. One of the the things we've discussed as part of that plan is the importance of safe places to secure bikes. I know I have had many times where I go to park my bike and the bike racks are not very good or, even worse, there are no bike racks at all. That's why I love Kitchener's secured bike cages. For a $10 refundable fee, you get a key tag that allows you access to the city's fenced in bike racks. There are currently 3 locations: City Hall parking garage, Benton St garage, and the KPL parking garage. The key tag allows you access to any one (or all three) of these cages. Anytime I'm in Downtown Kitchener, which is pretty often actually, I make sure I park my bike in one of these cages. I know I feel much more confident that my bike will still be in the same place when I use these cages! #365ofgoodWR
