![]() I know many folks have heard about the important work that the Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region is doing in our community. However, are you also familiar with the Male Allies program that they run? It's a public education program that offers a variety of programming that is tailored to the knowledge, needs, and ages of each audience. Male Allies facilitates "various workshops, trainings, and youth programming in schools, community groups, workplaces and more, designed for both male-only or mixed-gender spaces." Male Allies, in partnership with the YWCA Cambridge, has a 4 part workshop series starting this week called Raising Feminist Children. It is for children 8-12 and their guardians. These free classes will address a variety of issues through a feminist lens. This week's session is entitled Gender Boxes and is described like so: “Man up.” “Act like a lady.” Statements like these are heard every day and push people into boxes based on their gender. This workshop examines some of the ways in which gender-based stereotypes impact our relationships with ourselves and others." If interested, you can register here or find out more information on the Male Allies website. #365ofgoodWR
