![]() It's that time again...time to update my first aid training. As an early childhood educator I am required to keep my first aid training up-to-date. Thankfully, other than some scrapes and falls, I have not needed to rely on those skills very often at work. However, I have used them a few times outside of work. I was able to offer support when a cyclist was hit by a car and when a person fell down the stairs in a public space. I definitely see the benefit to our community when folks have some basic training in first aid training. Unfortunately, unless it's required for work or another activity we are involved in, few of us make the effort to get that training. As I head off to update my training today, I'd encourage you, if you're able, to explore first aid training options. That may mean signing up for a weekend course through an organization such as St John Ambulance. However, like most things in life, training is more fun with friends :) Why not see if your workplace or volunteer organization is willing to offer group training. Our community definitely benefits when more of us have an understanding of how to help in an emergency. #365ofgoodWR
