I have been looking forward to the start of 2019 to begin a new project, one I call #365ofgoodWR As I have become more involved in my neighbourhood, community, and city I have been fortunate to connect with and learn more about so many wonderful people and organizations doing amazing work right in our region. I want to highlight some of that work throughout this year. I don't know if I will be able to post something every day throughout the year, but that's where you come in. Please feel free to use the #365ofgoodWR to highlight things happening locally that help create a positive and welcoming environment for all.
As I mentioned I have been excited to launch this project. However, one day before launching this, I was saddened to hear the news that Duff had passed away. Many of you know Duff and, like me, enjoyed the conversations you had with him while bumping into him downtown. His passing was a shock to many of us and he will be missed by all that knew him. So I'd like to start of this year-long project by thanking Duff for his contributions to our community and I have chosen to highlight St John's Kitchen through the Working Centre for day one of #365ofgoodWR St John's does offer meals every weekday, but they offer so much more including: showers, laundry, housing stability, and a medical clinic - all free of cost. Find out more here.
