![]() One thing I am noticing through the #365ofgoodWR project is how many events, projects, and discussions are offered through partnerships between a variety of organizations. I think that's great! Here's another example of a terrific opportunity that is possible through such partnerships. The Rainbow Community Council, through the Solidarity Alliance, partnered with the Ontario Council of Agencies Supporting Immigrants and OK2BME to offer a workshop on Creating Positive Space: LGBTQ+ Newcomer Inclusion and Organizational Change. This workshop focuses on service providers and volunteers who support newcomers from the LGBTQ+ community. It's a free, 3-hour workshop that will provide an opportunity for "evidence-based action planning surrounding organizational policy and change. This workshop is a continuation of the workshop from 2018 and will be an opportunity to learn new things and follow up on/redevelop commitments from the last training." The Solidarity Alliance "functions as a working group that strives to increase safe access to services for LGBTQ+ newcomers in Waterloo Region." Solidarity Alliance will introduce the workshop, which will then go into breakout sessions, followed by a larger discussion. Register here.
