![]() We're fortunate to have a number of folks willing to organize and lead bike rides in our region! Yesterday some Kitchener Cycling and Trails Advisory Committee members led a bike ride in the new protected bike lanes around Belmont and Queen. This Monday, there's another opportunity to go for a ride. This one is led by the City of Kitchener's Active Transportation Planning Project Manager, Darren Kropf. And Darren has been busy drafting Kitchener's Complete Streets policy which I'm very excited about! Here's some details about Monday's bike ride: Monday, Sept. 16th at 5:30pm Meet and end at Catalyst 137 The ride is approximately 12km with stops along the way. If you need a bike, let Darren know when you register. "A transformative shift in thinking is underway when it comes to designing and building streets. Hear – and experience for yourself – how concepts like “all ages and abilities” and “complete streets” are changing Kitchener’s streetscapes, with the ultimate goal of making walking and cycling a safe, comfortable and convenient choice for getting around. All ages and comfort levels are welcome on this leisurely bike ride with lots of stops and conversation along the way. Bikes can be provided through Drop Mobility, a bike share provider operating in Waterloo Region." #365ofgoodWR
