![]() It's day 37 of the #365ofgood project. Let's take a look at resolution #2 from Brent Toderian's 2019 City Resolutions article: "Speak at City Hall in support of something good for your community and city, rather than just going to oppose things. And before you oppose something (such as well-designed density, new housing choices, or affordable housing), think carefully about who it’s meant to help, and put yourself in their place." Did you know that everyone can attend city council meetings? And you are welcome to speak at them too as a delegate (each municipality has rules for how to do so but it usually involves registering beforehand or in person when you arrive). Agendas for upcoming council meetings can be found online usually about a week prior to council meetings. If you're not comfortable speaking at these meetings, you can still ensure your voice is heard by contacting your local elected representatives. And as Brent mentions, it can be easy to speak out against something, but it's also important (maybe even more so!) to speak in support of issues as well. Your voice can really make a difference at city hall if you are able to make the time to share it!
